As you receive this issue, spring will be well advanced. Once again in the North American climes we can take to the out-of-doors and revel in the spirit of the new season. Hooray! Now then, it's time to take up your pen and dash off a few topical notes to your secretary , so that we can include expanded comment on what you are all up to. Please send me an update today!

A note from Chuck Lamb, postmarked Tokyo, tells us that he has been transferred within the Citibank universe from Tokyo to the Philippines. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date, Chuck; I hope you will fill us in on the details of your new assignment.

Karl Holtzschue has sent me an article he wrote for the American Bar Association's RealProperty, Probate, and Trust Journal. The article was entitled "Contract of Sale for Office, Commercial, and Multi-Family Residential Premises A Commentary." Karl, who is a partner with the law firm Webster and Sheffield based in New York at One Rockefeller Plaza, would be delighted to share a copy of this article with anyone interested. He noted that his prose includes suggestions of changes to adapt the contract format for use in states other than New York. It sounds as though it should be required reading for all of us property owners!

A note from the Alumni Records office informs us that Ted Izzard is yet another classmate residing in the Philippines; he lives in the Makati Metro-Manila area. Ted has been a stalwart supporter of our class's Alumni Fund effort, and we are delighted that the Far Eastern domicile has not lessened his interest in the fund's mission.

I was pleased to be able to personally greet John Ferries in London recently. John, his wife Donna, and their three children have been living for the past three years in Brussels, where John is a senior vice president with Benton and Bowles. He has European-wide responsibility for the agency's advertising business. John looked as fighting-fit as I have ever seen him and is one of the most enthusiastic "Europeanophiles" I have ever come across. As with all of us expatriates, it will be a blow when the head office tells us it is time to return to home base in the States. John mentioned that he continues to see Jim Mueller and his wife Cyl regularly, the Muellers also living in Brussels, where Jim operates a successful bottling business. I gathered that Jim is able to give John a challenging game of squash from time to time, though it was not conclusive who had the superiority! Jim, can you set the record straight?

Congratulations to Normand Kurtz, who proudly announced in a recent mailing the opening of his new law office at 228 West 7 1st Street, New York City.

A release from Central Fidelity Bank in Richmond, Va., announces the promotion of Vincent Sawyer to vice president, loan administration officer, in charge of retail accounts. Following a tour in the Navy, Vinny worked for Ford Motor Company and Chrysler Motor Corporation before joining Central Fidelity in 1970 in the installment loan area. Here's to continued success.

Bob Morris has been promoted to, resident manager of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Services' Torrance, Calif., office. Formerly sales officer in the Santa Ana office, Bob now directs a 30-member office of commissioned sales and leasing personnel who specialize in industrial, office building, retail, and apartment properties, plus a support staff. Having joined Coldwell Banker in 1973 as an industrial sales and leasing specialist in the company's Los Angeles office, he was named sales consultant in 1979 and senior sales consultant a year later. Well done, Bob!

That's all I have to report. In the parlance of Extra Terrestrial creatures, "Phone (or write) home"; we need more news!
