April in Hanover brings back fond memories of mud-wrestling and mud bowls; the brown stuff was übiquitous. The mud serves as good cover for the devious workings behind the drab exterior of McNutt Hall. April is admissions month, the time when S.A.T. scores, hockey talents, and favorable comparisons to Jack Kiernan are reviewed. Just think, ten years ago Al Quirk was reviewing a picture of Steve Mandel with shoulder-length hair, now merely a memory. April is also the month when Rob Ceplikas gets out of Hanover. For Cep, now a regional director on the board of admissions, April showers bring May hate mail. Let's hope Cep remembers his classmates around year 2000 when our children are ready to attend college.

This option is quite real for several of those who graduated in 1978. Peggy McGrath Sherman recently had a healthy son and is now living in Ithaca. She attends the Cornell School of Public Management, having recently moved from Hartford. Meanwhile, the city of Detroit might be spawning a future auto worker, as Jon and Linda Walton are expecting their first child.

Alas, there is more wedding news this month. Jackie Kaiko, who seems to get promoted every other month at Chemical Bank, is embarking on a new challenge and getting hitched. The recent wedding of David Daniels '79 was the scene of a small reunion for Bob Gross, Peter Leone, and Chris Lynch.

Other news briefs. Jeff Miller is working in international marketing, traveling throughout Europe and India from his home base in New Hampshire a far cry from Wall Street. Robin Baron is still one of the chiefs of the NewEngland Review. Marty Altemus is in the middle of her stint at Georgetown Med School, and stays in touch with Rose Gasner, who is completing Columbia Law School. Lou Teel is on the road frequently with CBS but still finds time for some occasional ice hockey. Vickie Smith has lived through a mild winter in Franconia and is still active on the Regional Planning Council. Eric Olin now runs Darien, Conn., implementing fiscal constraint in that depressed town. Ray Boniface writes about a party called Easters at Virginia and two surgeons named Bruce Kauffman and Fred Seligsen; the stress must be getting to him under that Charlottesville sun. Political activists Chico Denison and Dave Casper have moved to suburban Chicago but still led the Harold Washington campaign in their ward.

Gerald Widdicombe's Reunion Reminder Act Sou! In a rare display of anger, Gerald Widdicombe told U.P.I, this week, "If people don't send their reunion dues in soon, I will turn the market into a bear. Why, hell, even Kevin Hoffman has responded." Gerald makes a good point; please send in your final responses now so that we can make final plans.

By the way, the report from Charlie Wise this month shows about 375 classmates definite or hope to," which is a record clip. Don't miss the action!
