Our class mini-reunion, under the able direction of Bob and Sharon Blake, was a tremendous success. Bob and Sharon are clearly continuing the very high standards set by Jim and Debbie Griffiths. Friday night's class parade and Dartmouth Night bonfire and speeches were held under ideal weather conditions. Saturday, however, was a different story, with a wind-whipped rain forcing tailgating into Leverone Field House. The elements, however, did not deter our rapidly improving football team from smashing Colgate. At this writing, Dartmouth is 72 with six straight wins.

At the class meeting at Pierce's on Saturday morning, new President Jim Griffiths thanked Allen Zern for his capable leadership over the past five years and then presided over an interesting meeting. You will all be hearing directly from both Hank Amon, our new head agent, and Steve Water house, head of the Webster Hall Project. Their plans and goals were extensively discussed. I was particularly impressed with the thought, organization, energy, and sensitivity that they have given to their respective responsibilities. Our class, through the efforts of many, is recognized by the College as exceptional. It is my sense that Hank and Steve will be instrumental in carrying us to exciting new levels of achievement. I hope we will all give them our support while, I hope, expanding the breadth of participation by members of our class. We have every reason to be very proud. Let's build on this momentum!

Some others enjoying the Reunion included Bob and Barbara Bush, Mike and Jeannine Orr, Brian Walsh, Ted and Ann Atkinson, Bill and Sue Webster, Roger Rines, Carl and Mimi Boe, and Bruce and Betsy Wagner. I will be receiving a final list from Bob Blake—in the meantime, please forgive any omissions.

Notwithstanding a few roof leaks caused by the torrential rains, Reg and Nancy put on an excellent dinner Saturday night after which we were all serenaded by the "Rock a pellas." Roger Rines pronounced the weekend well worth the drive from Tennessee. If you haven't participated in our fall festivities, give it a try next year and you will see what Roger means.

From Wichita, Kans., comes word that Eric Engstrom, a senior member of the law firm of Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson and Kitch, L.L.C., was elected executive committee chair of the Kansas State Historical Society Board of Directors at its 120 th annual meeting on October 6 in To peka. He was recently appointed to the Kansas Historic Sites Board of Review by Gov. Bill Graves as the governor's designee.

Finally, Charlie Strauss received the 1994 Vision of America Award presented by Keep America Beautiful Inc. at its annu al dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. The award is presented every year to recognize the private sector's commitment to environmental improvement. Charlie is president and chief executive officer of the Lever Brothers Cos. Charlie, sorry for this delayed report.

My mail bag is now virtually empty and I am "under contract" to write approximately 39 more of these columns over the next four-plus years! I have a problem only you can solve. PLEASE SEND SOME NEWS. Postcards, e-mail, phone callsjust a few sentences. It won't hurt and we shall all be grateful.
