Greetings. As I write this column we are experiencing autumn's first kiss here in New England. The Red Sox appear to be surging towards the World Series. The class of 1990 is about to matriculate at the College. It doesn't seem like so long ago that we were arriving on the Hanover Plain as pea green freshmen. In those days we were more concerned with Saigon than shanties. But it's the old story the more things change, the more they stay the same. There's a timeless quality to students making the migration to Hanover to begin their undergraduate studies. By my count this is the 217 th year that Dartmouth classes have commenced.

Well, I have news of two Dartmouth doctors. Russ Kelley is currently living in Sudbury, Mass., while he finishes off his radiology residency at Tufts New England Medical School. He and Pat have four children, Jessica, Eric, Jeffrey, and Megan.

Rumor has it that Bob Norton and his family may be heading to France for a year in the near future. Bob is a doctor in Oregon and teaches emergency room medicine at the University of Oregon. He and Ginger (who used to work as an admissions officer and official for the Campaign for Dartmouth) have a boy and a girl, Katie and Jim.

Brad Little continues to expand his business as the chief executive officer of Executone of New Hampshire. Brad and Meg Driscoll have two daughters, Enslin and Taylor.

Bill Kellogg, my former doubles partner at Dartmouth, is currently managing the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in beautiful La Jolla, Calif. Bill hosts the Dartmouth tennis team every spring, and his game is as sharp as ever.

Two quick clips about classmates who are barristers. Kevin O'Shea is practicing law in Elmira, N. Y., where he is active with the Republican party and a stalwart at the local Hibernia Club.

Charlie Boarman is practicing law near Baltimore, Md„ and is still a force to be reckoned with at the poker table.

And finally, great news from GeorgeKidder, our class representative on the Alumni Council. He and Katherine recently celebrated the birth of their third child and first daughter, Mary Windom. Congratulations.

Speaking of the Alumni Council, this promises to be an interesting year. As you know, we will be involved with nominating a new Trustee and actively participating in the institution-wide planning and priorities process a joint effort of faculty, administrators, students, and alumni. The "Report from the Council" at the beginning of the Alumni Magazine will attempt to keep all alumni informed about Council proceedings. Please do not hesitate to write to me if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions.
