Classmates coming to Hanover for our 65th reunion this June 12, 13, 14 will return primarily to renew lifelong friendships in the 1922 family. Their pleasure, however, may be enhanced if they know some of the 1922 landmarks and other recent additions or renovations on campus.

With special significance to 1922 are the Kiewit Computing Center in gratitude to Peter Kiewit, the Strauss Gallery in Hopkins Center commemorating Jacob H.Strauss, a memorial professorship of music in his name also fosters the arts at Dartmouth; similarly, the Hopkins Center studios of the visiting artist and the artistin-residence are benefactions of Modie J.Spiegel and his son Edward J. '53; two Carroll Dwight study lounges are just inside the front entrance to Dartmouth Hall; the Herbert F. West lecture room is in Carpenter Hall, adjacent to Baker Library; the plaque at Thompson Arena, hockey and convocation center, reads in part: "This Arena was made possible by thgifts of many alumni and friends. Principal among them were the gifts of Rupert C. Thompson Jr. 1928 and Carleton Blunt 1926 in memory of his brother John C.Blunt 111. . . "; the officials room in Thompson was given by Frank E. Sands II 'SB and Robert G. Sands '59 in honor of their father, Walter E. Sands.

Moreover, 1922 benefactions to Dartmouth would be incomplete without including 64 years of outstanding loyalty to the Alumni Fund and some 30 bequests to the College..Nor should the 1922 Memorial Book Program in Baker Library be omitted and the more recent Wilbur W.Bullen Book Program.

Likewise, to appreciate the continuing vitality and attraction of Dartmouth, look at and possibly enter: the Hood Museum; the modernized Blunt Alumni Center, another gift of Carleton Blunt and family; the very new Berry Sports Center; the Rockefeller Center; the just completed dormitories on East Wheelock across from the gym; the new boathouse down by the river; and the remodeled Thayer Dining Hall, serving the best food in the Ivy League, according to some lads on the 1986 Harvard football squad. Come back and see both the new and the old Dartmouth.

Hal Clark, Bob Dewey, and Jack Hardy have recently left the class in sorrow. Obituaries will follow.

Finally, though it certainly is not exuberant to say so, this 65th reunion will definitely have no encore. See you in Hanover, June 12, 13, 14, we hope.
