Winter is rapidly approaching in the Midwest - it seems as if the great refrigerator is about to envelop us again. Regardless of the weather in your neck of the woods, may your holiday season be bright and the new year a peaceful and productive one.

Some interesting news on the literary front came in recently - Charles Monagan was appointed an editor of Connecticut Magazine in Fairfield, Conn. Charlie joined the magazine in 1977, after writing for the Morning Record in Meriden, Conn. He has won awards from United Press International and the journalism fraternity of Sigma Delta Chi for news and feature writing.

Charlie Janes recently completed the military justice course for the United States Marine Corps, in which he is a first lieutenant and an attorney.

Wade Wheelock and his wife Janet are living in Harrisonburg, Va., where he is teaching religion at James Madison University. He received his Ph.D. in 1977 from the University of Chicago. They are expecting a child in May.

This past October, I attended the Yale game in New Haven, where I ran into Mike Harris. Mike and his wife Andy live in Greenwich, Conn., where he is assistant headmaster and she is a teacher at the Eagle Hill School for learning-disabled children. Also on hand at the game was Dougal McDonnell, who lives with his wife Martha in Memphis, Tenn., where he is an accountant with Ernest and Whinney. EdWisneski was there, too, taking off from his chores as assistant publicity director with the New York Jets.

Remember to keep writing - see you next month.
