Okay, okay, okay, I missed a column. But I have good reasons for it, really, I do. First, there was the earthquake. I mean, have you ever tried booting up your PC's word processing package when your apartment is lurching like a freshman on Webster Avenue? Then there was the three alarm fire, which shorted out my PC as well as resulted in water stains all over my new couch. And then, just as I thought that I'd finally be able to turn on the tube and type away, Wheel of Fortune came on what could I do?
Word has it that Larry Norton is an advertising mogul in New York. AnnMunves, on the other hand, recently departed the glamor of Madison Avenue for the glamor of consumer products marketing toilet paper at James River, to be precise. Way to go, Munves! This is sure to make Town and Country!
Sturtevant Burr (who has yet to live down the line drawing of himself that he submitted to the Freshman Book) picks the flicks for HBO.
Tom Vieth, a successful painter in Boston, is looking forward to a wedding his own.
Ross Jaffe is married to a Mary Kay cosmetics representative and living in Tulsa. Doc O'Connor is an agent in L.A. Talent, not secret.
Mike Carothers is making money as a human statue. Inspired by the live mannequins on Columbus Avenue, he's found a niche for himself at Harborplace in Baltimore.
John Mac Govern has taken up hang gliding. His nylon and aluminum craft is dubbed "Winged Wonder."
Bruce Reeves earned a bit part in Spielberg's next movie. He found life on Wall Street too uneventful, action-grabber that he is. Beth Cogan considered a similar move (a larger part in a John Huston film) but chose to stay with Goldman Sachs instead.
Ross Brownridge has traded in his hockey skates for figure skates. He placed third in his district pairs competition, with Charley Malloy as his partner.
And now, for the "only in California" department: each year, the town of Monte Rio hosts a "Slug Fest" slug races, slug fights, even a slug cook-off. Dave Bumsted entered , the latter and took third place for his pineapple up-slime down cake.
In closing, I ask one favor to remember that I wrote this on April Fool's Day. Till next time if there is one.
