From Dave Borkum's daughter, Barbara Weinstock, came the following message: "Next to his family Dartmouth College was Daddy's #1 love. We were singing Dartmouth fight songs two hours before he passed away. Many thanks for your note to my mother. It was a privilege to be Dad's daughter. He is sorely missed. May the year 1998 be good to us all."
Jeannie Ewing wrote asking for help in locating June and Ori Hobbs. Luckily Margaret Bean's last newsletter carried the Hobbses' new address at a senior center in or near Wolfeboro, N.H., and I sent Jeannie a card with that information.
Nancy Hamilton thanks me for my message of sympathy in her loss of Dick. She wrote that Dick was a very loyal Dartmouth alum, and toward the end mail from Dartmouth was about all that interested him. Nancy also gave me the first news I had about the effects of the January storm on my old hometown, Rumford, Maine: "I grew up in Waterville and have many family members there. The destruction is unbelievable, but I don't believe Rumford suffered as much damage as Brunswick and Augusta." Nancy is now residing at 26 Elm St., Topsham, Maine, and I have suggested she get in touch with Larry and Mary Allen and JackDavis' widow. Peg and Ed Brummer told me about Doug Woodring's passing in January and that in a recent trip to the Cape they had visited a bit with Bea Woodring. Don't forget to help John Boermeester with the Alumni Fund.
