September Notes are due at the DAM in mid-July, and so far this month has been filled with worldwide catastrophes; civilian planes shot down in the Persian Gulf, fatal explosions on North Sea oil rigs, crowded department stores collapsing in Hispanic Texas, an unprecedented heat wave accompanied by cropdestroying drought. In Hanover, disturbing reports of fraternity troubles. But no news of classmates or their families to furnish a column!

So we can only hope and pray that all of you have been keeping cool (with ceiling fans rather than air conditioning, if possible) and that a less turbulent August will bring forth some word of your summer activities (or non-activities) for the October issue, or perhaps some reminiscence of your own fraternity days. Remember, we really depend on you for news. Loving greetings to all.
