This is my final column after ten years as your class secretary. I have truly enjoyed all of my alumni activities since graduation, but especially being class secretary and president of the Alumni Council. While I have every intention of remaining active in alumni and class affairs, it is time to "pass the pen" and I am delighted that Donna Ferretti Tihalas is taking over as class secretary. I know she'll do a great job.

I am writing this in the immediate aftermath of reunion, and Bob Barr and BradLittle did a super job in helping to make our 15th a terrific affair. The rain never dampened the spirits of well over 100 classmates who returned to Hanover. More details in the newsletter.

Newly elected class officers are ThadKing, president; Bob Glovsky, vice-president; Chet Homer, treasurer; Bob Barr, newsletter editor; Hilaiy Miller, Alumni Council and Donna Tihalas as secretary.

Now that I have completed my brief farewell, it is always a pleasure to start the news part of the column with congratulations and congratulations are certainly due to BobNorton and his wife, Ginger. Twins were born to the Nortons last November a boy, Brian Christopher, and a girl, Emily Rose. They join Katie, 6, and James, 3. In the meantime, and with all of his free time, Bob remains busy with his emergency ro'om work and teaching emergency medicine at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Ore. He is also head of the Oregon Poison Center. Many of us know Ginger, who has worn many hats for Dartmouth including admissions officer, dean, and associate with the Campaign for Dartmouth.

Richard Merrill reports that Thea Fabio (Smith '76) and he now have two daughters, Alessandra Rosalie,, 4 (class of '06), and Maria Theresa, 8 months (class of '10).

Prior to joining Universal Health, was a senior vice president for the eastern region of Mellon Bank. Kirk, his wife, and two cildren live in Wayne, Pa.

Warren Hashagen has also climbed the corporate ladder with one of the country's most successful retailers, The Gap. The Gap now has more than 900 stores and is approaching more than $1.2 billion in sales. Warren has been treasurer of this retailing juggernaut since April 1987 and was just promoted to vice president-treasurer.

I missed Paul Ungar at the reunion, but I do know that he and Karyn celebrated the birth of their first child, Miles Austen Ungar, last October. After a stint as an executive at Radio City Music Hall, he started his own entertainment law practice in Manhattan a few years ago and recently joined forces with another show-business attorney. Paul represents artists and producers in the recording industry, television, film, and the legitimate theater.

Lou Kartsonis was very active in the debate in California regarding the Humane Dignified Death Act involving "active euthanas." Lou published a substantial article in the San Diego Union on this issue and is well known in the San Diego area as one of the truly articulate physicians concerned about this issue.

Bob Conway, a major in the Marine Corps, with his wife, Lynda, and son Phillip, is moving to northern Virginia. Bob will be the Deputy assistant staff judge advocate to the commandant. Among his responsibilities is recommending assignments for Marine Corps lawyers at the various bases and locations around the world. Bob reports that Jackie Clark was recently promoted to lieutentant colonel in the Marine Corps and is currently an anti-aircraft missile officer.

That's the news. Thanks to all of you who have helped to make my job as class secretary an enjoyable one.
