Rev. Msgr. Carlos Sanchez expressed the opinion in a recent letter that "it was a real privilege to have been a member of the class of '23 ... as a part of the group of people of which so many have contributed to the welfare of society and humanity." In an earlier letter, he wrote that he still tried to hear confessions at the cathedral before the daily 7:00 a.m. and noon masses, and to say masses for two groups of men (professionals) at his apartment each week. Back in our college days, I wonder how many of our classmates even knew that Carlos worked extensively on the Orozco murals as the artist's assistant.
After reading in last month's '23 Class Notes of Howard Alcorn breaking his hip bone, you will be pleased to know that he has been home from the hospital and walking around since early October.
Howard might be encouraged to know that Carl Gray had prosthesis of both his hip bones many years ago and still continued to ski on the slopes of Sun Valley, Idaho. Last summer he vacationed for two and a half months at Seal Harbor, Maine, but currently is in not-too-good health at his home in Durham, N.C.
