Gordon Merriam wrote from Maine in December: "Helen and I have moved into the so-called active retirement emporium which overlooks the Damariscotta River near the town. We are still pretty much okay and this step is some form of insurance. But we keep the farm warm and open and go back and forth several times a week to do chores, throw a moderate log on a moderate fire and so forth." The new address is: Schooner Cove, Apt. 203, Damariscotta, ME 04543.

Lucy Briggs wrote to me about a very special day: ' Your newsletter entertaining as always. My son, Dartmouth '56, came to Hanover with his wife, five children, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren to join his sister and me. Unforgettable Christmas. Weather properly snowy and very cold. Happy New Year."
