Hi everyone. I'm in Zurich in the last throes of a final report, so this will be brief and only what was reported—no digging for clams this month. BobSpears called to check in with his news, having made quite a move in the last year. He and his wife, Chris, have moved from San Francisco to Sioux City, Iowa. Bob has been working for Gateway, which makes IBM-compatible computers. He started as treasurer, and now runs, among other things, MIS, order entry, and the "phones." Chris is from the area and is now practicing law. They have just completed designing and building a house in the country (isn't all of lowa the country?). Bob sounded absolutely terrific, and is thrilled with his job, the new house, and the lifestyle change.

Bob also mentioned that he's in touch with Dave Kahler, who is doing his residency (orthopedic?) in Charlottesville, and. KevinMcLaughlin, a urologist working in Atlanta.

Sean Devlin Bersell writes that he's had quite a busy year. He was recently married to Heather Norris (whom Sean met when she crashed a Gamma Delt mini-reunion in 1986—it was fate!) in June Heather works for PBS. Brian Mooney, Sean's former roommate, was the best man, and Sam Taylor and Dennis Ryan also attended the wedding.

Sean is an assistant director for Legislative and Congressional Affairs with the National Park Service. A lengthy title, but it means that Sean is in charge of the division which drafts parks-related laws and prepares Congressional testimony. In August Sean traveled on business to the Chukotka Peninsula (the Soviet Far East). Unwittingly, Sean's delegation became witnesses to history in the making as the coup commenced during their stay. I'd say it has been a busy several months.

I have to relay some of the quotes I read recently in the New York Post. (I'm the only one in N.Y.C. who will admit to reading this rag, although it has circulation in the thousands) "... a gutty performance by QB JeffKemp transformed a tight defensive battle into a jumbo Jet crash." Apparently Jeff was a big hero in the Seahawks early season victory over the Jets—way to go!

Finally, Joan Danziger Hechtman writes of the birth of her son Joshua William Hechtman on June 18. Joshua joins older sister Rachel, who is two. Joan is returning to work part time at the Association for Retarded Citizens this fall. Her husband, Dan, is completing his residency in general surgery in Boston, and the Hechtmans live in nearby Newton.

I'd like to include more news about everyone, so write or call in "items" about yourself or others. This column will only be as representative as you make it.
