"Facing Mecca" attracted Tom and Jane Nast, Pat Olson, and Ben and Marge Doran to two weeks of study at the Dartmouth Alumni College in August. Ben learned that Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the world.

People in Hanover as well as our classmates were saddened by the death of Lem Bowen on September 6. Our class was well represented at the memorial service at the Episcopal Church on September 10. After retirement from Burroughs Corporation, Lem came to Hanover and served the College in alumni affairs. For our class he was an alumni councilor and head agent for the Alumni Fund. We could always rely on Lem's fair appraisal of the Hanover scene. His delightful sense of humor and zest for life will be remembered.

Honors have come to two of our physician classmates. John Milne will miss the mini as he will be at the New Hampshire-Vermont Medical Association meeting where he will be awarded a 50-year pin.

Sey Ochsner served 20 years as a member of the American Medical Association House of Delegates. He was elected chairman of the Radiology Section Council in 1977 and was recently honored on his retirement in 1991. We are glad to report that Sey completed two months of radiation for a prostate condition and is gradually regaining his strength.

Ben Doran had an opportunity to experience the new facilities at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center when he was treated by laser for a detached retina.

SCORE—Service Corps of Retired Executives—provides many of us an opportunity to help aspiring entrepreneurs get started in business. Dick Ziemer and I belong to the SCORE chapter in Reading, and Bob McCoy has joined the Hanover chapter. I would like to hear from those of you who are active in SCORE chapters.
