Awhile back Curly Prosser, our class president since the 60th Reunion, exchanged jobs with Mutt Jennings, who had been a vice president, in order to concentrate on arrangements for the 65th Reunion. Of course Mutt's sudden death has changed all that, and Curly has had to resume the presidency. Fortunately, Jerry Sass, who had agreed to assist Curly on reunion arrangements, was able and willing to take over the main burden of this work. Other vice presidents are unavailable for reasons of health.

In early October Jerry reported a fantastic response to his letter to the classmates asking whether or not we planned to attend the reunion. Within a week or ten days of sending it out he received 14 positive replies. There were 17 negatives, but some of those might be reversed with a little persuasion. Also, of course, there were quite a few yet to respond.

A book entitled How Did I Get Here So Fast? by Chalmers M. Roberts, a retired newspaper man who just attained the age of 82, was published last year. It is amusing and informative even for those of us who consider 81 rather youthful. In it he quotes the following by Anonymous, that versatile fellow: King Solomon and King David Led very merry lives, With very many concubines And very many wives, Until old age came creeping, With very many qualms. Then Solomon wrote the Proverbs And David wrote the Psalms.
