Not only did Sam Williams preside over our class meeting in his usual relaxed way prior to the Penn football game, but he invited us all to his new condo for our pre-game picnic. That, plus good weather and the come-from-behind victory made everyone exuberant at our well-attended mini-reunion. All 11 class officers were present and reported on their year's activities. Bill Halsey announced that the date for our 1993 mini will be September 25. He says the College defines a mini-reunion as any gathering of five or more classmates. Let him or me know if you have one. Our Hanover-Lyme gathering had about 30 classmates present plus lots of spice (or spouses). Stet Whitcher requested permission to increase the Memorial Book donation to Baker Library to $40 for each deceased classmate. Granted, last year there were 13. Ted Miller, our Alumni Fund chief expressed pleasure at our class's exceeding its financial goal. Joe Burnett called attention to the bronze plaque installed behind Robinson Hall by the Chicago Club to honor our late Rudolf Horky Jr. Dottie Arwe was thanked for her good work on the bequest program. Her new bookstore in Keene requires so much of her attention that she asked to be replaced. Joan Martin volunteered to take over. Plans for our 55th Reunion are already under way, led by Elmer Browne, who did such a fabulous job on our 50th. It was pleasant to see some new mini participants, such as Alice andJack Fitzgerald and Gini and Tom Todd.Chap and Janet Wentworth came all the way from California to enjoy the party and also to promote Chap's new book (mentioned in an earlier column) at various eastern oudets. JackO'Shea was missed, but we trust he has recovered by now from his recent illness.
