The fall mini-reunion October 25-27 was held in unbelievable weather. The daytime temperature was in the 70s and the nights mild and clear. The Friday night bond-fire was even more impressive with a large moon shining on Dartmouth Row. Certainly this weekend was made even more memorable by the absolutely outstanding football game that was a credit to both teams but of course it was great to be a winner over Cornell.

All in attendance enjoyed visiting with classmates and wives, the repast on Friday evening, die catered lunch and dinner, the Bloody Mary party at the Thomas's estate and this all made the weekend quite worthwhile.

Bob Munzberg and Bob Hughes and others made the front page of the October 26 Valley News in a picture of them pushing Tom Swartz's Cadillac in the parade. This ancient 1964 antique had engine failure.

Attending the gala event were Maury and Linda Cole, Bob and Pat Quish, Skip and Manya Ungar, Tom Swartz, Oscar and Susan Patenaude, Bert and Sue Rodman, Irl and Barbara Marshall, Bud and June Hughes, Jim and Joan Sullivan, Jeff and Evie Farnum, Bob and Donna Munzberg, Pete and Ann Lord, Luke and Marty Soule, Bob and Persis Alden, Ed and Marge Clogston, Jim and Joyce Zafris, Al and Joyce Wagner, John and Susan Everatt, Bill and Josie Yates, Dick and Mary Lou Moersch, Stu and Nancy Sayre, Gill Nelson, Vail and Barbara Haak, Mike McGean, Sam Smith, Beth Griffiths, Jay and Barbara Rosenfeld, Bill and Bookie Cribbens, Gunda Sincox, Richie Hunt, Allen Brooks, Burt and Carol Proom, Kathy Erwin, Carl and Barbara Tracy, Spike Smith and daughter, and Ort and Georgie Hicks.

At the class meeting held before the game, President Haak announced that the class had paid off in one lump sum the money needed to fund forever the Memorial Book Program (this the one that places in the library a book with the name of the deceased classmate on a name plate in his memory). In addition Vail reported that the executive committee has adopted a policy of eliminating subscriptions to the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine of all those classmates who for a period of five years have failed to pay their class dues. Anyone who later decides to pay dues will be reinstated.

Since the amount reseved for the Book Program was larger than needed to fund it fully there have been leftover funds each year. The executive committee voted to use these funds to increase the Freshman Trip scholarships from 20 to 25 and to donate on an annual basis $500 to the Dartmouth Athletic Council Sponsors Program. This program helps prospective athletes to visit the College and is important in the decision process of which college to attend.

At our Saturday dinner this year two Gold Pick Axe Awards were given out. One was given to Skip Ungar and the other to Maury Cole. The citation for each is too long to publish in this column but will be in the next issue of the magazine.

On Sunday many of those in attendance were present at a memorial tree planting on behalf of William T. Griffith, arranged by his wife, Beth. The site was at the north end of Memorial Field, next to the iron fence. President Haak and several others contributed to the ceremony.

The next mini-reunion in the fall will be October 16-18, and is the Yale game. Why not think about these dates and place them on your trips to take for 1992?
