Frank Davis has been christened our Tenth Reunion Chairman in a stunning upset over Jens Robinson. The '83 crowd roars appreciatively as Frank sprints (OK, jogs) into the room, wearing his usual Dallas Cowboys helmet and authentic Roger Staubach jersey. "It will be sunny and in the mid-70s throughout our reunion, says our honorable chair, "and I'll personally see to that." Mark these dates down, folks; June 18-20 1993. There will be many beautiful moments. If you want to talk with Frank personally (especially to volunteer some help), his number is (617) 292-2203.

Top of the order this month is to announce enthusiastically the birth of chubby Hannah Beth Hausman, adorable daughter of Drs. Rachel and MarkHausman. Hannah arrived serendipitously (from a tax perspectave}, on December 30, is achingly cute, and outskied her dad in the moguls of Steamboat Springs.

When Dave Hendren sent in some news a couple of months back, I figured that there would be some form of immediate backlash. Yep "Hendo's baby is making him mixed up," wrote Alice Ruth. Alice then drew a thick red arrow towards the upper left comer of her corporate stationary, landing smack on the title "managing director." The ineluctable conclusion is that we somehow understated Alice's title in a previous column.

Ken Weinstein wins the understatement of-the-month award. Ken writes "Sorry I've been so delinquent writing in. Well let's see. it's only been nine years, Ken. And we used to live in Russell Sage together. Anyway, Ken is living in Stamford, Conn., working as a vice president in checking products for the oxymoronic People's Bank. But Ken was really interested m providing details about BillBailey's wedding to Julie Hendrix (Wellesley '84), which took place last April. Bill and Julie are living in Somerville, Mass., where Bill is an attorney. Lots of '83s tried to eat and drink the bride's family into bankruptcy. Bill politely called diem "rogues in the gallery. A few vignettes on the more prolific class members follow: Jim Scarrow, "still suffering no pangs of conscience after changing from engineering to law in our nation's capital;" JoePiacentini, "now in Hartford, Conn., work inff in the insurance industry, like everybody else that works in Hartford;" Kevin Luing, "unbelievably, now serving as a college president pro tempore and making a killing an the sports card/paraphernalia circuit; MarkWallace, "now an up-and-coming amateur beer brewer in New England; Dave Badger, "Enjoying marriage, teaching, and Southern California;" Dave Roberts, "computer whizzing away in Seattle;" Paul Salamanca, who took just enough time off from the Supreme Court duties with Justice Souter to attend. Instead of getting warmer in late March and early April, Chicago's weather disintegrated into several snowstorms and wind chill factors below zero. Rubbing (perhaps unintentionally) a little salt on the wound was JohnWestney, who took time out sailing in the British Virgin Islands to tell me how much fun he was having. John has been working for the past 2-1/2 years planning an addition onto the hospital where he works in New York. The project included a birthing center (labor-delivery-recovery rooms), operating rooms, and inpatient/outpatient surgery areas. Wow! John "wears several different hats," but most of his time is spent as a director of projects and long- term planning. Great stuff, John.

A couple of quick notes: Mike Colby is now very active with the Dartmouth Environmental Network and has helped established a D.C. chapter. Mike has (we think) finished his doctorate and is working "directly or indirectly" for the World Bank in the State of Washington.

Jim Allen is now at UCI .As business school. Anders Crofoot is developing a software consulting business, specializing in architectural, engineering, and construction applications. He and his wife, Emily, had their second child, Sarah, last summer . . . And I am outta here.
