This month we have nuptials and other news. Chrissy Kirkmire is teaching French at the Thacher School, a boarding prep school near Santa Barbara, Calif.. She moved there after finishing her master's in French at Vanderbilt. Not inconsequently, Rich Mazzola moved out to Santa Barbara with Chrissy last fall. He's living in Thousand Oaks and works for Canon Inc. The two were engaged over Thanksgiving when Rich flew Chrissy to Boston, picked her up in a limo, drove to Dartmouth and proposed to her in the middle of the Green at midnight. They will marry in Portland, Ore., on July 24. You've gotta wonder what he told her the reason was for the two-hour drive.

Checking in from Namibia this month is Stephen Gumbs, who is in the Peace Corps teaching English to adults. He plans to research attitudes towards education in Southern Africa and start a school photography club despite the fact that the none of the school's 800 students has a camera! Steve would love mail, and asked that I pass on his address: PCVT Stephen Gumbs, Ongwediva Teacher Training College, Private Bag 5507, Ongwediva, Ovamboland, Namibia, Southern Africa.

Cathy Nabbefeld is the director of admissions at the Putney School, a college prep boarding school on a farm in Putney, Vt. She says about 20 percent of the school's faculty are Dartmouth grads. They require that all students milk the cows for a term before graduating. I'm not joking.

John Slusher and Ann Fromholz are at USC Law. Christine Mangone, Lisa Yahr, and Kim Meyers live together near the beach in L.A. Kim teaches elementary school there as part of Teach For America. Pat Perry will probably have completed his second year at Georgia Law by the time you read this.

Following what seems to be a continuing trend in the class of '90, Julie Warren and Scott Schorer were engaged over Christmas and plan to marry in the summer of '93 in Stowe, Vt. Scott is in the Officer's Basic Course at Ft. Benning, Ga., in preparation for a platoon leader position in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, N.C. He'll soon be in ranger school (survival training). Julie is now completing the first year of a two-year master's program in clinical psychology at St. Michael's College in Vermont.

Also engaged are Meredith Mcintosh and Joe Bermann. They are planning a June 1993 wedding in Maine. Meredith is still at Aetna, and Joe finished his master's in computer science and is now working as a software engineer for Data General Corp. in Westboro, Mass. They recently saw Julie Urda, who is living and working in Boston.

Jonathan Weatherly will marry Lisa Guerin in Lincoln Park, Ill., on June 27. The two met during Jonathan's 1988 internship. Jamie Hooper will be part of the wedding. He's working for DDB Needham in N.Y.C. Jonathan is working at Towers Perrin, a management consulting firm in Chicago.

Ted Carleton phoned to report ChrisFarrens' engagement and wedding planned for August 15 in San Diego. Ted is a newspaper reporter for The Challis Messenger, circulation 1,750, located in Custer City, Idaho, population 4,000. The library made the front page the other day, in fact. There are cows on all sides of the trailer Ted lives in. He loves it.

As a CBS News Election Unit employee, I make my election year promise to you, the members of the Dartmouth class of 1990, to print at least a portion of every letter you send me. That's more than you'll get from Bush, Clinton, or even Jerry Brown!

Our next issue comes in August. Enjoy.
