While on the subject of relocations, Parker Holden reports that Dick Holt has relocated his "digs" within Duncaster in Bloomfield, Conn. This could be it for a while... What says Evelyn?
Bruce Lemmon tells of a reunion in June with his two medical-school roommates DickRooker and Phil Thompson at Phil's summer home on Sebago Lake near Portland, Maine. They were also roommates at the University of Pennsylvania and had not seen one another since 1948. Dick and his wife, Irene, came from Niagara Falls, and Bruce and Dotty from Springfield, Mo. Phil still practices rheumatology, but Dick has been retired for five years and Bruce for 11.
The 1938 golfers have been busily engaged afternoons chasing the little white ball. LukeNims hosted the initial match in July at the Country Club in Greenfield, Mass., and HenryMcDuff was host to the group in August at the Agawan Hunt Club in Providence, R.I. The "swingers" for this season, besides the listed hosts, were Brad Jenkins, Fred Pickering, BenWalkley, Gil Tanis, Parker Holden, Dick Holt, and Charlie Hitchcock. George Kingsbury joined the group for lunch in Greenfield, and Dave Choate in Providence. Of course, you all know that I'm their gallery of one! No doubt the golfers will be at it next year even though their numbers get smaller. Could it be that we are getting older? But then again, is not age in the eye of the beholder?
The Thanksgiving holiday season is fast approaching, and so I wish you all the best. May your family gatherings meet your every wish. Remember not to eat too much turkey and pumpkin pie!
In closing, I again quote from Ann Landers: "If you had your life to live over again, you'd need more money!"
