If you have received as much snow as I have received letters, you probably live near the equator. As a result of the mail conditions, this column will be one of reminiscences. Let us travel back in time to the early 1960s to revisit our dreams and misadventures. This columnist will then speculate on what has happened since “way back then.”

Back in 1961 there was a freshman wrestling team at Dartmouth and several classmates were worried about cauliflower ears: BruceMiller, Denny Ebcrl, Doug Miller, Char-lie Jennings, Brian Wasung, Mark Eldridge,Frank Brezovar, Bill Van de Graaff, RonRiley, and David Feldshuh. This wizard declares, with great confidence, drat none of them is currently involved with professional wresding.

This wizard then looks into the crystal ball and says that David Feldshuh is either a L.P.G.A. caddie or a playwright. Look for the answer in a previous or future column of Class Notes. The wiz says that Denny Eberl is a research scientist with the U.S. Geolog- ical Survey in Denver. Do I see Ron Riley skiing in Vail? I see that Bill Van de Graaff is a doctor, teaching at Loyola University in Chicago. This great speculator says that Mark Eldridge is a city planner or a song- writer, or both. My crystal ball shows Brian Wasung wrestling with oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. Charlie Jennings is either a zoo keeper or the vice president of a hotel chain, but I am not certain because the old ball is fogging up. All of you former wrestlers are begged to respond with verification that the preceding prognostication is not mere- ly speculation.

I am so desperate for information that I am now opening up a sleazy contest to lure you to write. The first classmate to write or call me with information about himself or anoth- er member of the great class of’6s will receive, free of charge, two tickets to a World Series Game which pits the Chicago Cubs against the Boston Red Sox. Hurry on this one.

Until the next time we meet, take care of all things green.
