Along with President Clinton and Vice President Gore, a number of'79s are celebrating recent promotions. T. Weymouth has been named a partner in Hogan & Hartson in Washington. T. specializes in international trade.

American Airlines elevated Jeff Jackson from managing director of corporate finance to vice president and treasurer. Jeff is now responsible for all financing activities and domestic and international cash management for the airline. After receiving his M.B.A. from Northwestern, Jeff joined American as an associate in corporate finance in 1984.

Stephen Johnson, the director of land policy for the Massachusetts Office of Environmental Affairs, has been named executive director of the Sudbury Valley Trustees Inc. Steve was selected from 80 applicants and was one of 14 semi-finalists scrutinized by a search committee. Founded in 1953, the trust is a regional land trust serving approximately 30 cities and towns of the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord River watersheds. It has an annual budget of $330,000, 2,600 members, and landholdings totaling 1,500 acres in nine communities. Steve has served as the secretary of environmental affairs's chief policy advisor on forestry, wildlife, agriculture and land-use issues since 1990. He previously managed state bond funds for land acquisitions and administered the federal Land & Water Conservation Fund in Massachusetts.

Michael and Abigail Hanna are living in Philadelphia, where Michael recently accepted a position on the faculty at Penn. He is an academic cardiologist and specializes in heartbeat irregularities. Most of his work deals with referral patients and basic research. Abby is a surgeon at Penn.

From the Bronx, David and Nating Fitch write that they are searching for a biology department seeking a molecular evolutionary development geneticist. In exchange for a career lead, David has offered a week in his family's tree house on the island of Romblon in the Philippines, which purportedly is staffed with a singing waiter.

And finally, Carol Frost and her husband, Eric Nye, have announced the birth of their daughter Ellen Mary on March 10.
