It hardly seems possible, but our 25 th Reunion is now history. Thanks to Ed Heald and his committee, the reunion was a resounding success. John Pilling will fill in the details in his next class newsletter, but here are a few highlights: a simple but moving memorial service by Greg Marshall; the Friday clambake replete with lobsters; a class dinner and tent activities on Saturday night; and a symposium entitled "Living With a '68" featuring Steve Calvert, Marty Keller, and official '68-watcher Professor Stan Rosenberg. Student workers helping to make the reunion a success included our head worker Melissa Blackman '94 (daughter of Gary Blackman), Matt Cooperberg '95 (son of Dave Cooperberg), Jessica Drolet '96, Samantha Sparks '96, Ross Nova '94, Kaye Parry '95, and Max Holdo '96. They deserve a round of applause for an excellent job.

At the class meeting Saturday afternoon, Mark Waterhouse, Pete Fahey, Ron Weiss, Pete Weston, and Dave Peck were elected president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and alumni councilor, respectively. John Pilling has agreed to stay on as newsletter editor, John Engelman will remain mini-reunion chair, and Dennis Donahue stepped aboard as bequests and trusts chair. A well-earned round of snaps went out to outgoing officers Jim Tonkovich, Dave Peck, and Parker Beverage. Thayer School Dean Charles Hutchinson was made an honorary member of the class. Your class also voted to commit to a gift of $1,001,968 to the College. Line Eldridge and Mark Waterhouse were hard at work throughout the year to make our gift a reality. They deserve much thanks for what is, at best, a thankless job.

I look forward to serving as your secretary for the next five years. In order for this column to be a success, I need news. This means you! Write me, send me clippings, call me at (413) 568-9302 (home) or (413) 731-4751 (office), or fax me at 731-4300.

Please note: John Engelman is alreadyplanning a mini-reunion on October 30 in Hanover. Mark your calendars now.

Jonh Pilling '68 did his best Ed McMahon impression on the way to a dinner where his class's check would be presented to President Freedman.
