Steve Small has been elected general counsel and secretary for Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. and Columbia Gulf Transmission Cos. The companies are interstate natural-gas pipeline units of The Columbia Gas System Inc., headquartered in Charleston, W.V. Steve is a member of the District of Columbia, West Virginia, and federal energy bar associations. Active in the Charleston community, Steve is a board member of the United Way and a trustee of his synagogue and the Federated Jewish Charities.

Class President Mark Waterhouse has been named chair of the American Economic Development Council (AEDC). Mark is also a member of the editorial board of the AEDC's Economic Development Review, executive director of the Northeastern Industrial Developers Association, and a director of the Connecticut Association of Municipal Development Commissions. As if this weren't enough, Mark is a member of the faculty curriculum committee and strategic planning committee of the University of Oklahoma's Economic Development Institute.

Arnie ResnicofF, cruising the information superhighway, informs us that he recently spent some time in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, leading Yom Kippur services for sailors and marines heading for Haiti. Now, although Arnie's name appears nowhere on the e-mail message (which had to be printed and mailed to me), I'm assuming the message was sent by him. After all, how many '6Bs are navy rabbis? Thanks for the note, Arnie. Once I toss my vintage 1964 Royal portable, I'll be on tire Internet.

Covenant Bank of Haddonfield, N.J., has named Barry Abelson to its board of directors. Barry is a senior partner in the Philadelphia law firm of Pepper, Hamilton and Scheetz and has expertise on securities law and mergers and acquisitions.

The class was well represented in Hanover during the weekend of October 14—16. PeteFahey, Steve Elliott, Mike Lenehan, BurtQuist, Fred Martin, Ted Renna, BillKolasky, Dave Fuchs, Chris Meigher, JohnO'Shea, Dick Stowell, and Jeff Hinman were all on campus at various times during the weekend.

I need more news. How about unusual hobbies? I recently related Dick Harwood's forays into Egyptology. Maybe some of you would like to share your unusual hobbies or interests with your classmates. For example, I just learned that Ron Weiss is a latent anthropologist.
