Greetings all! A lot has happened with our class since the last column, including weddings and, as always, job changes. Our friends from the East Coast have been busy on the job. Jackie Hanlon has just accepted a position with Geerlings and Wade in Massachusetts as the company's controller. R. Gregg Nourjian is now managing a group of bars and nightclubs in The Alley at Boylston Place. Kirsten Rutnick is a litigation associate at Davis Polk and Wardwell in New York. Laura Welles Wilson is working for the public defender's service in Oxford, after finishing her second year of law at the University of Cincinnati in the spring.

One of our classmates from D.C. has recently been given the honor of clerking for the Supreme Court: Stephen F. Smith graduated third in his class at the University of Virginia Law School and is now clerking for Justice Clarence Thomas. He researches cases, makes suggestions, and helps keep track of all the appeals that come to the office.

Renee Foisy graduated from Southern Methodist University Business School as valedictorian in the spring and is now working as a financial analyst for American Airlines in Dallas. Dan Estabrook has started his M.B.A. career at UCLA's Anderson School. BethBurnside is also joining the group of '88s in California, as she is in her residency at UCSF in San Francisco. Diane Mountford is with the L.A. Women's Shakespeare Company. PatWalsh is in Saw Francisco working at HewlettPackard

There are a number of weddings in the '88 picture. My former summer roommate, Maura O'Neill, will be tying the knot with Dave Corkins, and Sarah Jackson was recently married to Edward Han (Johns Hopkins '79). And more wedding reports and news came from Gisele Laffaye Pansze:

"The summer wedding recap, in reverse chronological order (I'm a career counselor), begins with the Labor Day weekend wedding of Bart Rickenbaugh and Lisa Hollander in Middlebury, Vt. Best Man Pat Brophy noted in his toast (which he gave without realizing that his fly was unzipped) that Lisa did not possess the one quality that Bart had insisted his wife should have: being an expert skier! We're glad that Bart overlooked that requirement. Other '88 guests included Bonnie Sard, who recently finished law school and was heading for work as a prosecutor at the Manhattan DA's office with Samantha Hankins. Is a future like Marcia Clark's ahead for these two? Check out the Class Notes in another ten years.

"Hariy Schimkat married Renee Frohock in Syracuse, N.Y. The two met at Fordham Law School. Among 'BBs seen tailgating in the church parking lot before and after the ceremony were John Harris, Ross Ampel,Lance High, Chard McDonough, MattDrury, John Olson, John Osborn, RobCote and Chip Wilson '87. Terry Phillis and Clay Corbus probably would have been partying outside as well, but for their formal duties as groomsmen. Two Cindys are expecting: Terry's wife, Cindy Phillis, and Chip's wife, Cindy Smith Wilson.

"John Osborn has had a few unfortunate experiences lately, capped off by the ultimate New York cabbie story. Apparendy he was riding a cab in New York City which got into an accident and caught on fire. The cabbie had a prosthetic arm, which began smoking and fell off after the accident. Other than a broken nose, John is doing fine." More from Gisele in the next issue.

Finally, one bit of news from our mysterious class prankster. It turns out that the information about the travels of Nathan Denny overseas, that listed his journeys in great detail, were the work of an '88 prankster. Nathan never traveled to any of those places! He humorously cautions that classmate to "send news no more." Please do all send news.
