Happy New Year! Ah. February. Good-bye to the crisp September mornings, and welcome to the crunch of feet on snow. I hope those of us living in the warmer climes aren't pining too much for a bitter north wind blowing yesterday's ice, nee snow, into our faces. I'm happy here, watching the frozen land transform overnight under a soft, deep blanket of New Hampshire powder.

The mail bag was nearly empty this month the only letters I received were from BradSimanek and Tria Katz. Keep the letters rolling! Due to production lag-time, it may seem like a long time before your letters get into this column, but, trust me, they go in!

Brad took time out from his "typical firstterm business triptych of microeconomics, statistics, and financial accounting" at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (GSB), to drop me a line. He's worried that his finely honed beer-pong skills are withering away from Hanover; to fill that void he's been writing a column for the GSB newspaper, schmoozing, giving speeches with Toas toasters International, and playing rugby. In no particular order, I'm sure. PeteDeininger is also at GSB and also playing rugby. Brad writes, "when the path to the M.B.A. gets a little too stressful we pull each other aside and reminisce about what we'd do if we were back on the Plain... usually a good enough incentive to get us to the campus watering hole." Close by, Jim Keating is paralegalling for Kirkland and Ellis. GregSchmolka's been working for Saatchi and Saatchi in New York and taking regular trips to Hanover. Greg and I are poised and ready to drop everything and open a restaurant somewhere in the backwoods, just as soon as Greg busts open the advertising world. Look for us, "Schmolka's and Onken's." ChuckKayser has been teaching in D.C. and hanging with Scott Molinaroli and Ken Bilchick. Scott has been circling the globe with the Mercer Consulting team, and Ken has been slugging it out at George Washington U. med school.

Tria's been living at home, which is different now since she's moved. Her new address is 215 Palisades Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 09402. She says that life is good at International Creative Management in Los Angeles, the largest talent agency in the world. She's advanced out of the mailroom and is now assistant to some Harvard stooge.

Tria remembered meeting me while I was rooming with Tony Godsick our sophomore fall and wondered where he was now. Which started me wondering where the rest of my roommates were too. Freshman year: Jesper Johansen, Andrew Smith, and GaryCampbell. Jesper wins the award for the fool who traveled the farthest to be around for Homecoming, flying in from Copenhagen for the weekend. He's working for P&G. Andy and Gary, where the hell are you? What's going on? Tony? Speak to me.

Steve Hubbard got his pilot's license over the summer and since then has been buried at Thayer, doing the B.E. thing. Tom Killeen,Jeff Dudycha where are you? I've seen Rebecca McCallum prowling around Hanover on her bike. I believe she's working at the Hop. Amy Hannah completed her secondary-school teacher training in November. Beth Delehaunty and I have just returned from a cross-country road trip to San Francisco. She's living in Hanover, playing Ultimate, and working for the D. Derek Geary is also here at Dartmouth, finishing up, filming, composing, and cross-checking. At last word Crawford Palmer is still a force on the court in France and Brent "Mr. California"Schindele is still at Georgetown. I expect information from all of you question marks!

I wish you the best in 1994 and hope to see and hear from all of you soon.
