Head Agent Larry Leavitt should definitely have been mentioned as a contributor to the world. As headmaster of Vermont Academy he bestowed students with a sound education in liberal arts and was successful in getting the boys to go out for sports. He coached football and basketball when he had die time. Dot helped him Greatly. Larry got the boys into the leading colleges, after which they took their posts throughout the country and abroad. The boys were devoted to Larry, and he earned their complete respect.
Larry was delighted with the record of more than 20 widows who gave to the Alumni Fund for 25 consecutive years, and he rewarded them for their generosity and loyalty by sending them a copy of Dartmouth—A VisualRemembrance, with most attractive photos by George Robinson, intro by David Bradley '38. Larry keeps in very close touch with the widows, who obviously are much pleased.
Larry was honored at an April dinner in Boston where he was inducted as an honorary Wearer of the Green. Toastmaster was Ed Gavitt '59, general manager of the Celtics. Dick Jaeger also was there. President Freedman spoke. Larry was touched when three basketball players came over specially to greet him. He was always a strong supporter of the team.
The indomitable Pete Blodgett celebrated his 91st birthday in grand style on March 26 in Lyme with his nephew Put and Put's wife, Louise. Trust Pete to arrange a good party. Pete is eager to have a 70th Reunion. Good for him! Talk it up. He says the fishing wasn't good in early June in Marion—it was windy and the sea too rough.
