Our 20th Reunion has come and gone, and Meg Winthrop and Jack Martin disappointedly reported that they were unable to attend. Astonishingly enough, Meg and Jack fell in love, decided to skip the engagement, elected to elope, and then spent weeks arguing over exactly where to go. We are all very sorry we missed them, but for those of you who have been following their careers and escapades, here's a short excerpt from the letter they sent:

"Mary, disappointed not to see everyone at the reunion. Eloped to Aiken, S.C. Couldn't agree on the china pattern, let alone whether to have the registry at Neiman Marcus or Gumps. We have finally decided on a place to live, mostly due to your various descriptions in the column. So we have chosen Macon, partially because the climate is so similar to our Alma Mater's. Even Jay Wright '73 agrees. Anyway please report in detail on the reunion."

Well, Meg was right, weather in Hanover was similar to that in the Maconnais—hot and muggy. So we used all of our steamy-weather survival techniques. For instance, BobbyAtwell, Tim Gilchrist, and Jay Wright could be found in the shade (or the woods) on the golf course. Jeff Baxter, Steve Allison, DaveCranshaw, Dickie Ellsworth, DEougie Lind,Paul Lukeman, Doug Peabody, and BruceWilliamson could more likely be found in the shade of the '74 tent. Now, on Saturday we did try to cool off at Storrs Pond, but the antics of Rick O. Williams, who persisted in doing acrobatic dives off the dock, caused such commotion that the College actually cleared the raft. We were all beached, so to speak. Busted for excessive frolic, we decided to send TomEggleston, Trip Heard, Kirk Hinman, and Chris Gates to negotiate, mediate, arbitrate, and represent us for all other future events that will be at the College.

A few '74s managed to hike Moosilauke or take a swim in the Connecticut River at the boat house. Art Post took a reunion row. Chas Carner announced he is planning on writing a book called White River Junction Walks, and Peter Blodgett kept cool just fantasizing about what snow-shoveling in Antarctica would be like. Buck Becker and Marty Mehlberth were too busy keeping the parties going to notice the heat, and Chuck Estin made certain that the Sunday morning run would be well attended.

We had a pride of women: Chris Nicholson, Lonna Saunders, Dana Seman JodyHill Simpson, and Candy Neville. We all took a midnight swim at Union Village Dam while we discussed the Unified Theory and its effect on the class of '74. Les McCusker played keyboard in a band (Bobby and the Corvairs) Friday night, to which Whit Wall danced the night away. Perry and Jane Ballard hung out in the air-conditioned Norwich inn Bill Deevy, Mike Draznik Steve Furber, and Herbie Hopkins engaged in witty repartee at dinner while Ty Nutt RickRanger, Tom Kent, Jeff Stewart, Jack Thomas, and Rocky Whitaker enjoyed the Livingston Taylor concert Saturday night.

You will want to know, Meg and jack, that Don Casey has volunteered to take over the column, and Tom Csartari is going to organize alumni giving for the next reunion, which Jerry Bowe and I will help organize. Jep Gruman and Jeff Simpson volunteered to help out, so we will have our first meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia, and probably our second in Bainbridge Island, Wash.

I was honored to serve as the secretary of this class and appreciate all the help everyone gave me, especially Rick Ranger. Also thanks to Paul Dixon, who led a moving and poignant memorial service. Oh, one last note: Star Johnson '70, who spent much time at the '74 tent, would like to report to all alumnae of the class of '73 of younger that he is still available.
