Harlan Banks is "returning to his roots" that's Lynn, Mass., I had to look it up and will be moving into a lifetime care center around September 1. He will be joining fellow professor Herb Jackson already there. Address: 7 River Woods Drive, Unit Pll3, Exeter, NH 03833-4373.
Best wishes, Harlan, and the hope that it will now be easier for you and Kit to make it to mini-reunions. Still on Exeter, DickHouck and Jack Gilbert just spent three days at their 65th Exeter Reunion. After that, Dick took a two-and-a-half-week trip through beautiful Switzerland.
More on reunions: Ray Snow and Dartmouth roommate Art Ward were die only '34s at their Deerfield 65th. Ray wanted to know if Bill Scherman remembered a trip in his jalopy to Roseland in Claremont? On his way back to Topliff he ran into a police trap, drove off the road into a tree, and one of his passengers had to go to the hospital. My roommate Ben Blair just told me he had bypass surgery a while back and is slowly recovering. Ben entered the law shortly after Dartmouth and later became a judge. For those of you who knew Ben well, I can see a smile on your faces.
Congratulations to Mary June Wilson (widow of Rollie) and their grandson Andrew Pearson, who graduated from Dartmouth last June and is the winner of the Academy of Poets' Poetry Prize. Lois Frankel recently talked with Babe and Anne Shea, enjoying their home in Maine and they will not have to move as anticipated, as they have found a hospital nearby that can serve Babe's needs.
And from Bob Offenbach, "Retirement isn't for everybody." Bob is still working three days a week, but is just back from a four-month leave of absence in Lucerne Point, Fla. He and Millie had a few health problems in January, but have recovered to resume their enjoyment of bridge and golf. Despite much socializing, Bob was disappointed not to see a single '34 in Florida. I hope to see some of you nice folks at this fall's football games. Keep happy!
