This month the column is focused on '64s who started in New Hampshire Hall and have gone on to productive business careers. Starting in the Middle-East, Chuck Pitman is president of Amoco's largest petroleum production company in Cairo, Egypt. Chuck and his wife, Twing, have lived most of their working lives in this part of the world. Closer to Hanover, Rusty Turmail (Framingham, Mass.) is a senior consultant with Bank of Boston Corp., Bob Prescott (North Marshfield, Mass.) is a private consultant to the fire protection industry, and Dave Blanchette (Gilman, Vt.) is employed by Simpson Paper Co. as an energy manager. Also in the Green Mountain State is our class' newest entrant into the political arena, Tom Spangenberg. Tom lives in Castleton, Vt., and is now the chairman of the planning committee and town auditor for Hubbardton, Vt. (Look out, Bill Bradley!).
Moving south to New York, Jim Long (Darien, Conn.) is the managing director of First Atlantic Corp., Whitney Goit (Huntington, N.Y.) is vice president for sales and marketing for the A&R Cable Network, and Bob Jacoby is the president of R. H. Jacoby & Associates, a management consulting firm.
Across the Hudson River, we find Kenny Sly (Wycoff, N.J.), Warner Knobe (West Depford, N.J.), and Peter Coombs (Vernon, N.J.). Ken is clean products manager for Coastal Refining and Marketing, Warner is president and CEO of The Bank of Gloucester County, and Peter is eastern technical representative for Cairns & Brother Inc., a family-owned company founded in 1836 that assembles, maintains, and sells fire helmets. Moving down the East Coast, Bob Parkinson (Waldorf, Md.) is the general manager of the Lexington Park Office of MIL Corp.
In the Midwest, Bob Engleman (Chicago, go, Ill.) is president and CEO of Avondale Federal Savings Bank, Robert Martin (Palatine, I11.) is president of BoldtMetal Industries, while Bob Szakonyi (Palos Park, Ill.) is director of the Center on Technology Management and is a writer and consultant in the field. Bill Howey (Shawnee Mission, Kans.) is vice president and administrator of human resources for Waddell & Reed, a mutual fund company; while Dick Harris (Menomonee Falls, Wise.) writes that he is the owner of several small insurance and investment businesses. Dick brags that he still plays b-ball several times a week (Probably in the over 50 League!).
Moving further west, Curt Comstock (Albuquerque, N.M.) is a vice president in the commercial loan center for Sunset Bank; and Newell Grant (Littleton, Colo.) is a real estate consultant. Incidentally, Newell gives "five stars" to Frank Loveland's guided tour of the Gettysburg Batdefield. Frank, of course, is a professor of anthropology at Gettysburg College.
On the West Coast, Chuck Carroll (Walnut Creek, Calif.) is the director of national accounts for ADPAC, the oldest software manufacturer in the United States. Further north, Charles Harris (Seattle, Wash.) is president of Spencer Aircraft Industries and Kent Howard (Bellview, Wash.) is a partner in the Custom Fit Insulation Cos. Look for more on your New Hampshire Hall classmates in Bob Paterson's next newletter. Next month I move to the"new dorms." Brown Hall is next.
