Julie Wallin Kaewert writes that she and Bill '79 were disappointed to miss everyone at reunions. They had just settled in their dorm on Thursday night before reunions when it became apparent that baby Kaewert was not going to let her parents enjoy one last weekend together. Julie writes that at 2:30 in the morning, and at 95 miles per hour, it takes much less than two hours to drive from Hanover to Boston. Sarah Wallin Kaewert was born on Friday—congratulations to the reunion baby! Julie and Bill have moved to California, where Julie is staying with Sarah and writing a novel. Her first book, DevelopingExpert Systems for Manufacturing, was published in June.
Theo Pozzy has also had a busy few years. Theo and Dick Green '75 founded Corporate Microsystems Inc. in 1982. CMI is a software company that has just landed a one-and-ahalf-million-dollar contract with PepsiCo. Theo is vice president of research and development for CMI, which plans to double over the next several years.
Ann Swengel is also enjoying success in the publishing world. Anil, who lives in Baraboo, Wis., has written several articles about butterflies. As a butterfly researcher, photographer, and former zookeeper, she is certainly qualified! Ann's articles have been in such diverse publications as Wisconsin Natural Resources and Highlights for Children.
Holly Dustin writes that she saw several Dartmouth classmates when she attended the wedding of Holly Eaton and David George on Cape Cod in the fall. Holly D. is working in Stamford, Conn., as a lawyer, and plotting her eventual return to the wild North. Holly E. is in her third year of law school. Also at the wedding was Kirk Read, who is a professor of French literature at Bates College. Kirk defended his thesis at Princeton this November. Holly writes that Kirkand his wife, Camill, have two adorable baby girls.
Other guests included Nancy Greene,Sally Johnson Spadaro, Paco Spadaro,Diane Bennett, Mark Levy, and AnneHayton. A brief update on everyone! Nancy is working for a TV station in San Francisco and is married to a sportscaster. Like the Reads, Sally and Paco also have two children. Diane is in her first year of medical school. Mark is currently writing his thesis on international environmental law an increasingly dynamic field, I'd guess. Anne is living in Burlington, Vt., where she works as a radiologist.
Holly was also able to catch up with BetsyKnight, who lives in Chatham, Mass., and works in the marketing division of GE Plastics.
Please keep up the notes, letters, and postcards. I'll pass on the news as soon as I get it. Cheers!
