Alice Austin, widow of Briggs Austin, wrote thanking the class for the memorial book placed in Baker Library in memory of Briggs. She said, "the donation is very much appreciated." Esther Mayo writes, "I wonder if all the Ivy League colleges are as thoughtful as Dartmouth in paying tribute to their former classmates?" She thanks the class for the memorial book for Fred.

The family of Pat Uhlmann thanks the class for honoring Pat's name through the Dartmouth library. Helen Jane said, "He would have been pleased, and I am most appreciative."

I am giving you the new address and phone number of the keeper of the class wealth, for it is important that we know at all times where we can locate him. The McCoys, Erdmans, and Jud Smith enjoyed the 14th Annual Sponsors picnic in Hanover on August 19th. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and hear from the coaches and team captains. We are always impressed by the ability of the coaches and players to speak and express themselves.

The Sponsors provide funds to bring student athletes to Hanover in a manner which conforms with Ivy League regulations.

The coaches can testify that when the prospective students visit the beautiful campus in Hanover and meet players and coaches, the selling job is easy.

The number of our classmates supportins the Sponsors program is low in comparison to the classes of '34, '35, and 36. You can help recruit the strongest and brightest students for Dartmouth by joining the Sponsors program. Let's do it!

I never thought I would find our tearless Mint Bag editor Bill Rotch making a slip. However, the photo in the June issue shows your secretary with his good friend, Liz McCoy.

Evidently at our advanced age eyesight is failing for no one told me that my companion was Liz and not Carolyn. I'll admit there is some similarity.
