Many lucky '62s can look back fondly to meeting our partners in life at Dartmouth while others can experience the pride of our daughters matriculating and following in dad's footsteps. Hopefully, all of us have experienced the joy of sharing life's special moments with a woman. We give tribute to our '62 wives and partners who have been super women in managing marriage, motherhood, and a career. I recommend a wonderful article under Faculty Matters in the Winter 1996 Dartmouth Medicine Magazine tided "A Balancing Act." DMS professor Joyce A. DeLeo gives sound advice for how women can simultaneously have a meaningful family life and a successful career.

At the risk of leaving someone out I mention special holiday greetings for all that I received from, Bob and Sydney Reed, Pat Giles, Bill and Penny Obenshain, John and Nancy Walters, Josh and Karen Rich, A1 and Arja Rapoport, Chuck and Anneliese Simpson, Gene and Sandy Gasbarro, Sandy and Anne Apgar, Eric and Judith Matthies, and from each of our faithful class officers.

Frank and Dorothy Kehl's holiday greetings included a marvelous dialogue of their rare and wondrous happenings of the year past titled "Winter Solstice '96," some of which I hope to share in a future column. Perhaps Gordy Williamson will publish Frank's letter in the newsletter. Frank hopes to be at the 35 th Reunion but a higher education conference in China may supercede.

In a wonderful and poignant letter, Colin E. Harley starts off by saying, "This is not really news but a reconfirmation of the great experience it was to be at Dartmouth with the kind of people who populated our class." Colin goes on to relate the invigorating experiences he shared this past year in riding together with Fred Cook on Colin's Harley Davidson to the Adirondacks, where they caught up on a couple of decades of life and philosophy while hiking and canoeing. In November Colin lured John Wilkinson to Greenwich to ride their "Harleys" (could Colin ride any other cycle?) at a local running club outing. Colin goes on to say that Fred and John gave some memorable insights as to what is going on in the world and what we are all doing here and concludes, "No matter how long I live and no matter where I go, my close friends from Dartmouth are the best!" All '62s can catch up on the past decades and renew our friendships with our classmates at our 35th, Monday, June 9, to Thursday, June 12, 1997.

Hutch, Charlie Balch, and their committee members have organized an unbelievable Reunion with some 200 classmates and family already planning to attend. Catch the Reunion fever, you will never regret it!

Write, fax, e-mail! We really want to hear from you!
