Dartmouth has a fine field hockey midfielder thanks to our class contribution to the Athletic Sponsor Program. Bob Gilges received a thank-you note from Whitney Gulick '01, in which she wrote, "My stay with the field hockey team this past October ('96) helped to show me so many wonderful attributes of a school such as Dartmouth. Experiencing that weekend was like nothing else the football and field hockey teams defeating Ivy League rival Yale. Such immense school spirit could never have been explained in words. That is why I am so grateful to you for letting me be a part of the festivities."
It is with sadness that I report the death of Alan Akeson. At the time of his death Al was employed by Abrasives and Tools of New Hampshire Inc. in Concord, N.H., following 33 years with the Permattach Diamond Tool Corp. He was president of Permattach when he left to join Abrasives and Tools. The condolences of our class are extended to his widow, Jane, and Al's family.
Skip Louis wrote in late December to report the death of Judy Jacquet, wife of Joe Jacquet. Judy will be remembered by many of us for her tireless efforts helping Joe organizing our class mini-reunions. Our condolences go out to Joe in this, his time of grief.'
