It's 1999, and here's an update on leaders across the country who won't make you roll your eyes! Timon Malloy has been promoted to president of Fred F. French, L.L.C.

Darrick Hills, vice president and fixed-income analyst at Dain Rauscher in Minneapolis, is serving as president of the Minnesota Society of Municipal Analysts.

In June our class officers stepped in. Here's who's who, and how you can get in touch with them (comments, questions, ideas, or volunteers for assistance welcome): When juggling a long commute and a baby became too much, Sue Bremble Johnson left her job as vice president of corporate marketing for Sunrise Medical. She's now newly relocated to the Washington, D.C., area, where she's a full-time mom, and our new class president ().

Vice president Sarah Reynolds Walton () is assistant professor of clinical pediatric anesthesia at University of Michigan Medical School. Sarah says, "It's a lot of work, a ton of fun, but nothing compared to taking care of my two kids, Meredith 10 and Charlie 8. My husband is a pediatric emergency medicine physician, also on the faculty of the U of M."

Head Agent and mini-reunion chairman Reed Webster () writes that he's enjoying living in Chicago, and working for Morgan Stanley's private client services group. He and daughter Margaret 7 are loving(!) the snow and ice skating this winter.

Treasurer Mark Stein resides in Concord, Mass.; works in downtown Boston at McDermott Will & Emery; and keeps fit playing squash with Jim Gregg. Jim tells me that Mark and wife Rosa have a beautiful daughter, Eliza 2 (going on 10). Jim admits to still putting in many hours at State Street Bank, Boston, while Connie is enjoying fulltime "Mom-dom" at home in Lexington, Mass., with Emily 7 1/2 and Chandler 5.

I received a copy of the Nov./ Dec. issue of The Washington Lawyer, which featured classmate Monty Wilkinson and family. Monty is deputy director of the District of Columbia Court Services and Offenders Supervision Agency. He and his wife, Patti (a partner at Hunton and Williams), play an equal role in parenting their two children, Kelly 6 and Alexandra 3 months.

First Union Real Estate Investments announced that Bill Scully was elected to its board of trustees. Amir Rosenthal has been in Connecticut with Timex for the past 9 1/2 years. Originally an in-house lawyer, Amir became treasurer two-plus years ago. His wife, Tammy, is a social worker with her own counseling practice and they have two boys, Joshua 9 1/2 and Matthew 7. (DaveGrubman reports reasonable success in getting his Timex watch(es) repaired/replaced by leveraging his relationship with Amir, and would encourage other '83s to do the same.)

Jeff Shapiro, "the Industrialist," continues to operate a string of radio stations in the Northeast. He lives in Hanover with his family and still frequents the TriKap basement.

Marisa DeAngelis Kane writes she is doing well in London, where she has once again survived four birthdays in a row—Caroline 7, Josephine 6, Brian 5, and Isabella 4! "The kids are all developing wonderful British accents, but I still can't get used to calling shrimp prawns, etc." Maiisa is busy with her new "career," running cooking classes for children ages 3 through 6. "It's wildly popular, and who knows where that will lead. It's not exactly putting a spaceship on Mars, but it certainly brings a smile to a lot of faces."

Laurel Schneider, teaching in the department of religious studies at North Central College in Naperville, III., recently earned a Clarence F. Dissinger Award and is having her book, Re-Imagining the Divine:Confronting the Backlash to Feminist Theology, published this year. Courtenay Newton is with Boeing in Seattle and doing a fair amount of mountain climbing and traveling.

That's all for this month. Be sure to keep us updated!
