There were ISO people at the Dartmouth Club of Sarasota's Christmas party. Our representative was Ginny New man, widow of GeorgeNewman. The Dartmouth wives of Sarasota originally weren't invited to the dinners so Ginny organized luncheons for the women. The men "caught on" and soon the wives (and now, the husbands) were invited. Way to go, Ginny!
Along with the academic scholarships that '25 sponsors, there is the Dorothy Hall Leavitt (late wife of Larry Leavitt) Field Hockey Team Award, which went to Lauren Scopaz, who was also on the National Academic Squad and captain of the '99 field hockey team.
It is sad to report that we have lost three members recently: Kenneth Montgomery from Oregon, Bill Boise, and MarkEmerson. The class extends its deepest sympathy to their families. Larry Leavitt will have obituaries for them. Does anyone know how Tink Tinker is?
Pete Blodgett recovered well from a bout of pneumonia and had a great chat with Larry Leavitt. Larry also reports that Stow Golding is, in his own words, "still kicking up a storm at age 94." Your secretary had a chat with Rad Tanzer and his wife, Sheila, both of whom have just recovered from "bugs" and, by the time you all read this, all Hanoverians will have welcomed spring, and bugs and snow will, for this year, be in the past.
A closing thought from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "The truest test of civilization is not the census, nor the size of the cities, nor the crops—no, but the kind of man the country turns out."
