We are still in Maine as these notes are being written (at the end of August). However, Rip has talked with Art Nighswander by phone, and he reports he is in great shape from the neck up. He also said Charlie Dudley was back in the hospital unit at Kendal. We regret to report that Charlie has since died, on August 31.

The report is that our class acquitted itself very well, as usual, in this years Alumni Fund. Gifts from classmates, widows, offspring, friends and trusts amounted to a tidy sum. Class of '29 should be proud of its loyalty to Dartmouth.

We have learned of the death of two widows, Elaine Hansmann and Mrs. George Scott. We extend our sympathies to their families.

Rip adds: "So sharing and caring they're unselfish lovers, But at 2 in the morning

they grab all the covers."
