This is written as spring overtakes us but will not see print until summer is well in hand. Ham Chase has been appointed to a class nominating committee by president Andy McCulloch to provide a slate of officers to be voted upon at our June 2002 reunion. Any class members who are interested in serving should contact Ham at 63 Maple Street, Keene, NH 03431. Phil Booth was honored by his peers among writers of poetry on May 17 at a ceremony in New York City at the Roerich Museum for his winning book of poetry Lifelines,Selected Poems 1950-1999. The award consists of a citation and the Poets' Prize. The congratulations of the class go to Phil for this recognition. The prize-winning book is but one of 10 books which he has had published. Dottie and Ham Chase celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April, a marriage which was held in the White Church in Hanover. Also in April, they were off on a boat trip from New Orleans, down the Mississippi, into the Gulf of Mexico to Mobile, Alabama, and then up the Tombigbee River through Tennessee and Kentucky to Paducah, via a series of locks and canals. The trip then went down the Ohio to St. Louis and then upriver, ending up in Chicago. The boat trip was followed by their anniversary celebration and departure to spend the summer in Marthas Vineyard. The sympathy of the class is extended to the families of classmates whose passing has been reported to us: Dick Hartung on March 13 and Dave Huntoon on March 17. Reminder on upcoming events: Fall mini-reunion-norwich Inn, October 19-21, 2001; 55th Reunion—June 10-12,2002.
