When you get this it won't be too late to sign up for the mini-reunion. Dates are October 31, November 1 and 2. We would love to see a big turnout. I spoke to our intrepid fundraiser, name of Tom Adams. About what? Our annual Alumni Fund. The goal was $80,000 and we raised the grand total of $163,000! All hail Tom. And thanks to all of you generous givers. Who said there's a recession? That money shows a 54.6 percent participation, only a fraction less than what you did for the 55th. Now for some business. In my last column I told you about the money we have at the library in our book restoration program. Barring a financial disaster there will be a substantial amount left after we've all departed. Tom Adams has a committee formed to discuss projects. The committee consists of Adams (610-407-4500), Tom Cohn (203-838-6749), Ray Dewees (603-643- 1739), Bob Kimball (603-643-3180) and Jim von Rohr (802-878-5269). President Walt Snicken berger is the ex officio whatever (603-526- 4123). I know there are a lot of ideas as to what we should do, so please call one of the above, or all, and give us your thoughts. We would hope to have some firm ideas before the year is out.
I've let you down a bit on the news about classmates but as said before, John McClintock does and has done a wonderful job in reporting the news about us to you. My only real access has been by telephone and a lot of my calls start out with "Who are you?" and "Are you asking for money?" Seriously, it has been a great experience for me and I've had the pleasure of talking to more of you than any other classmate has. And I thank you for sharing with me. I have been advised that Hamilton Bailey died on July 29. "Ham" was our long-time treasurer and a great supporter of our College. We have also heard that Frederick Wightman Jr. died on August 21. We extend our sympathies to their families.
