' I would like to remind all graduate alumni that the Arts and Sciences Graduate Alumni Association at Dartmouth (ASGAAD) will hold its third annual conference and reunion during Homecoming Weekend, November i and 2. If you are interested in participating in or presenting at the career panel, to be held Friday afternoon, please contact the assistant dean of graduate studies, Kerry Landers, at (603) 646-1743. The wine and cheese reception at the Hood Museum will begin after the panel, at 6 p.m. The pre-game tailgate party is scheduled for Saturday morning. Jeff Baker (MALS 92) is doing his best to wrangle a tent for the occasion. You should be receiving a mailed announcement of all the weekend activities, including the open ASGAAD meeting. All graduate alumni are invited to attend, and we are actively recruiting new ASGAAD board members. This is your chance to make your voice heard.

The MALS Alumni Association held its annual luncheon and dinner on July 10 at the Hanover Inn. A large number of alumni as well as current graduate students attended, and a special thanks goes to Maggie Montgomery (MALS'99) for organizing the event. Among those catching up on news while they enjoyed the buffet were Roland Adams (MALS 98); Mike Beahan (MALS'97), the association president; Judy Chypre (MALS'99); Patricia Crosset (MALS'9S); Barbara DeFelice (MALS'99); Susan Doheny (MALS'OI); Lois Kerr (MALS'84); Joan Kersey (MALS'96); Nancy lott (MALS'92); Susan Mielniczuk (MALS'oo), who was elected to the asso- ciation board during the subsequent meeting; Margaret Richard (MALS'85); Nancy Silliman '95 (MALS'96); John Tansey (MALS 95); Alice Wright (MALS'89); and Julia Lloyd Wright (MALS'99). Dr. Stuart Lord, dean of the Tucker Foundation, was the guest speaker. His inspiring presentation on service projects led to a discussion of how graduate alumni could also become involved. If you have any thoughts or suggestions on this, please contact me.

William F. Supple Jr. (psychology and neuroscience'86) found a new direction for his talents. After achieving his goal of teaching undergraduates at both Yale University and the University of Vermont, Bill became restless with the amount of time he was required to devote to research. For the past nine years he and his wife, Toni, have published Picket Fence Preview. This free publication is a monthly listing of for-sale-by-owners homes, land, and commercial properties in northern and central Vermont. They also wrote and published How to Sell Your Own Home, which they offer free to homeowners who buy a twomonth advertising plan. (The book can be purchased through Amazon.com.) Their new careers grew out of frustration with the process of selling their condo and buying a home. Quite simply, they came up with a more efficient and less expensive way of achieving results. Their Web site is updated on a daily basis, and they are now involved in setting up Picket Fence Preview franchises for other areas. If you are interested in buying or selling a home in the Upper Valley, look for this publication.
