Coleen O'Brien and husband David FitzGerald are the proud parents of Benjamin, born August 10,2001. Coleen and David find their good fortune incredible.

Robert Gagnon is on the faculty of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary as an assistant professor of New Testament. He received an M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School and an Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary. His main fields of interest are Pauline theology and sexual issues in the Bible. He is the author of The Bible and Homosexual Practice: Texts and Hermeneutics.

Roger Glovsky won a Boxster automobile as part of a contest at his job, Gold Wire Technology. For more details, see www.scumpa.com/~art/boxster/contest. All I got at work was a crummy T-shirt. The remainder of this column is devoted to business and legal news.

Mitch Pacelle, a reporter for the Wall StreetJournal, is the author of a well-reviewed book, Empire: A Tale of Obsession, Betrayal, and the Battle for an American Icon. Reading much like a novel, the book is the true history of the Empire State Building. Mitch has won the New York Press Clubs 1999 Business Reporting Award, was a finalist for UCLAs Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism and was part of the team nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the collapse of the Long-Term Capital Management hedge fund.

Ross Jaffe continues with Versant Ventures, where he is an evangelist for health-care venture investing. After Dartmouth Ross earned a doctor of medicine degree from Johns Hopkins University and an M.B.A. from Stanford. Ross practiced medicine part-time until 1995, when the demands of business and family (two daughters) required some hard choices.

Grant Bogle is now with Roche pharmaceutical company as vice president of sales and marketing services. He is also a member of the company's North American operating committee, the executive group responsible for Roches commercial strategy formulation and implementation in the United States and Canada. Grant lives in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with his wife and three children. After Dartmouth Grant earned an M.B.A. at Columbia University.

Breck Smith was listed as one of the best lawyers in Delaware by Delaware Today. Breck is a real estate lawyer with the Wilmington firm of Potter, Anderson & Corroon. Breck earned his J.D. at Widener University School of Law.

Ed Fernandes is managing partner of the Texas operations for law firm Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP. Ed lives in Austin where the firm has 76 lawyers and also has responsibility for the firms Dallas office.The San Francisco-based firm is known for its representation of technology and Internet businesses. Fortune magazine named Brobeckone of American's "100 Best Companies to Work For." Before joining Brobeck, Ed ran his own firm, Solar & Fernandes, for six years. When he joined Brobeck, Ed brought his largest client, Bank of America Corp. After Dartmouth Ed earned his law degree at Columbia University.

Steven Camerino, a partner in the law firm McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, P. A., was recently elected president of the Capital Regional Development Council (CRDC). CRDC is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote economic development and job growth through out central New Hampshire. At his law firm, the largest in New Hampshire, Steve is the managing director. His own legal practice is concentrated in the areas of energy and public utilities and closely held businesses. Additionally, Steve is chairman of the energy affairs committee of the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire and the past president of Legal Advice and Referral Center Inc., a federally funded organization that provides legal services to the poor.
