You will be receiving a lot of information over the next few months about reunion and so I will just remind you of the dates: June 14-17,2004.I also remind you that Homecoming is Oct. 24-25.

Rhode Island College has appointed James Magyar as chairperson of the committee of general education. This committee oversees the course of study that all students must take to graduate. In addition Jim is a professor of chemistry at the college and has served as director of the NASA Regional Resource Center there.

The law firm of Carlton Fields has announced that president and CEO Thomas Snow has been elected to the board of regents and as secretary of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers. Tom has been a member of the college since 1994. He practices in the area of secured financing and commercial real estate transactions.

Steven Harris is one of many people who work behind the scenes in Washington, making sure all goes smoothly. He has served as counsel for Barbara Jordan of Texas and was her representative to President Carters National Commission for the Review of Antitrust Laws and Procedures. He then joined the staff of Sen. Riegle of Michigan before jumping onto the Banking Committee in 1981. He was staff director for the Securities Subcommittee from 1986 to 1988 and then became staff director and chief counsel for the full committee in 1990. Steve has been described as very smart and very savvy and is relied on, justifiably, for a lot.

Jim Ruddock has been selected associate vice president for technologies, health professions and community education at SUNY Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York. Jim has been a professor of architectural technology at OCC for 28 years.

Take care and write.
