Lisle C. Carter Jr. was awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters by Cazenovia College May 22 at the same time that his son, Stephen, the William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Law at Yale, gave the commencement address. Lisle served as deputy assistant secretary of health, education and welfare under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson. His son is the author of The Emperorof Ocean Park and several nonfiction books.

Bill Martin writes that he reunites annually with Ed Kohn and Lynn and Scott Parrot each spring in Vero Beach before Ed and Lynn return to Cornwall, New York, and Vermont for the summer. Ed received a special tribute for flying solo over the age of 80. Don Campbell and Dorothy are moving from Stuart, Florida, to Scottsdale. Bruce Kenworthy won't communicate from Oregon because writing adversely affects his golf grip. After all of this information from Bill and Mary Martin they are allowed to brag about their grandson, Nick, graduating from Swarthmore in May with double honors.

Fred Campbell and Amy write that they have "retired from everything—work (USMC law practice and teaching) and volunteer work and we have time for us." That includes travel to Arizona, Ohio, Illinois and Montana on several different trips. Henry "Hank" Blansfield, M.D., writes from Danbury, Connecticut, that while he was working as a surgeon his colleagues knew him as "Hank the Crank." On the golf course now he is "Hank the Shank." Richard "Dick" Kendall, writing from Brookside Farm in Auburn, Maine, is quite busy being involved in 10 organizations and chairman of the board of five of them. One is the Lewiston- Auburn Youth Court, which he founded more than two years ago. There are about 1,000 of these courts scattered across the country. They are quite effective in reducing juvenile crime.

Congratulations to Ted Safford, his agents and the class of 1945 for a 62 percent participation in the 2004 Green Derby. Make your plans for the mini-mini in Punta Gorda, Florida, in March 2005 and the 60th class reunion in Hanover, June 13 through 15,2005.
