Scott Holland once again survived a trans-Pacific sojourn in economy class to Thailand's Koh Samui, during the course of which he made a 35-minute interterminal international al connection at Chicago O'Hare. Fortunately, enough news of other classmates has come over the transom that space does not permit further elaboration in excruciating detail. It is worth noting that he did learn how not to ride a motorbike.

Tom Peisch was quoted in the March issue of CFO regarding the current legal situation of auditing firms vis-a-vis improper actions of a few of their employees or of their clients. Reacting to a chamber of commerce report calling for action in this area, Tom expressed the opinion that this report "is just the beginning of a long process that will require a sea change in the law and the way federal prosecutors behave."

Word has also been received that Mike Graham has joined the Houston law firm of Jones Day as a lateral partner. Jones Day is among the worlds largest international law firms with 30 locations worldwide. Mike represents corporations and businesses in trials and appeals involving commercial and energy-related disputes in the United States and internationally. Congratulations, Mike.

T.J. Rodgers was the subject of a wide-ranging article in the April 14 NewYork Times pegged to his Sun Power subsidiary of Cypress Semiconductor. Described as "an outspoken libertarian" and capable of "swinging from bombastic to modest and back again in the space of adjoining sentences," T.J. did not disappoint. News to me was his latest enterprise: vineyard Clos de la Tech. I look forward to seeing it in the New Hampshire state stores soon!

Finally, we were saddened to learn of the death of well-known Hanover architect Greg Hemberger in a skiing accident in January. The class sends its condolences to his family. An obituary appears in this issue of the magazine.
