Our class is unique in having an adopted member, Matthew Marshall, Matt achieved honorary membership by virtue of the work he did in installing and maintaining both the external and internal components of the '45 weather station at the Hanover Inn, where he was manager for 23 years. He is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and worked at Wellesley College and the Woodstock Inn prior to coming to Hanover. He left his job at the inn about one year ago to take a position as general manager of the Hanover Improvement Society, which has responsibility for managing the Nugget theater, the James W. Campion III Rink and the Storrs Pond Recreation Area. He lives in Etna, New Hampshire, with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two sons, Jonathan and Samuel. Elizabeth is a Dartmouth graduate, class of 1980, and holds a Ph.D. in physics. Matt attends the '45 monthly luncheons at the Norwich Inn and keeps us posted on what's happening in the Hanover area. We are very happy to have Matt as an honorary member of our class.
A letter dated January 5 to Ted Safford from Dr. Stuart C. Lord, dean of the Tucker Foundation, thanks the class for its "very generous gift." We have yet to hear from the DOC, which received the other half of the interest from the endowment fund.
John White reports a very successful minimini-reunion in Punta Gorda, Florida, on March 26. The date for 2008 is March 9. See our class newsletter for further details. Don't forget the mini-reunion in Hanover in September.
