Once again I am grateful to Frank Aldrich for sharing messages he received during the holiday season. This opportunity to spread news of classmates is important in fostering class cohesiveness.
Dan and Jane Carpenter write from their home in Bermuda of their hope for better things in 2007. We all certainly share that hope! Nancy Berge widow of Bill Berge, writes from Centennial, Colorado, that she is happy and healthy and appreciates being remembered at the holiday season. Fred and Amy Campbell report from Colorado Springs, Colorado, a recent visit to their daughter Susie and her husband, Jack, in Missoula, Montana. Susie and Jack's son Rob is recovering from a serious illness contracted in Mali, West Africa, while serving in the Peace Corps. The family is grateful for his recovery, as are we all. Luciana Dutche rreports that Henry is in a nursing home, is comfortable and is being well cared for. She too appreciates "being remembered during the holiday season. John Nuber writes from Fort Myers, Florida, of the challenges of coping with the advancing infirmities of old age. His principal weapons are swimming and other forms of aerobic exercise. He also continues to enjoy a round of golf A recent annual trip to California to visit family was especially enjoyable as was a large family wedding in March 2006. A pretty active life, wouldn't you say? Carol Newman, widow of Paul Newman writes from Columbia, Maryland, that she is happy to be enjoying "good music, good food, good children and grandchildren." She too expresses gratitude at being remembered during the holiday season. I think Frank does the class a great service by sending greetings to so many of us at this time of year. Rex Felton reports that his wife, Phyllis, has been in and out of the hospital since June 2006. She is currently at the Ruffing Care Center of Tiffin Ohio (2320 W. Cos. Road 6, Tiffin, OH 44883), and would love to hear from everyone. Remember to put the mini on your schedule, September 16 and 17.
