Hey, my feelings are getting hurt! No one wants to talk to me—our class news is pretty light this issue. I'm attempting to contact some classmates via e-mail, with little response—either I have the wrong addresses or you wish to remain unheard from! Thanks to those of you who did send in some news—l love to hear what our classmates are up to and I hope you do also.
It turns out that Jennifer Clarke lives minutes away from me in Philadelphia. Jen is the executive director of the Public Interest Law Center, after being a partner in a law firm for 20 years, and has lived in Philadelphia since 1987. Her daughter just graduated from high school and her son is going to be a senior at the U.S. Naval Academy. Jen and I will be getting together for lunch in the near future, as I will be spending much time downtown with my daughter Kelley, who just bought her first house in Philadelphia. You know you are getting old when your child pays more for a home than you ever dreamed of!
Eric Edmonson answered my e-mail from the West Coast. He is a partner with Seven Hills LLC in San Francisco. Eric brought back a memory of a freshman fall trip we took to my parents' house in Cohasset, Massachusetts, when I brought a few members of the freshman football team home for Thanks giving. My mother served a lot of food that day! Many of my meals in Hanover were spent at Thayer eating with the freshman football team—no wonder I put on those freshman 15 pounds in a hurry.
I received notice of an award conveyed upon John Jennings. John is living in Portland, Oregon, and was named a Cascadia Fellow by the Cascadia Green Building Council. The award was for lifetime achievement and contribution to the green building movement. John is a manager with Better Bricks New Construction and notes that he remains active in doing alumni interviews with appli- cants to the College. Another physician in our class has been honored with an appointment. Thomas G. Tape, M.D., FACP, a local internist in Omaha, Nebraska, will become governor of the Nebraska chapter of the American College of Physicians, the national organization of internists. Tom is the chief of the general internal medicine department and a professor of medicine at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.
I'll be sending out some more e-mails soon—it's fun to go through our class mailing list and see names of people that I'd love to hear from. We graduated in a rather "intimate" group of one thousand or so, and we want to know what you're up to. So don't delete my e-mail—write back!
