A meeting of the Dartmouth alumni of Toledo and vicinity was held at the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club on December 8. Approximately 25 alumni and their wives attended the dinner which was followed by Dartmouth movies.

The following officers were elected for the coming year: President, Herbert D. Bissel '29; Vice President, William A. Russell '39; Treasurer, Samuel G. Carson '34; Secretary, EdwardJ. Searles '39.

The annual Christmas Holiday Luncheon was held at the Toledo Club on Wednesday, December 29. Sixty-five people were in attendance which included undergraduates and the prospective freshmen of the class of 1953 who were our guests on this occasion. President Herbert Bissell '29 presided.

Clinton Mauk '50 gave a talk on the College as it is today. He stressed the changes that were brought about as a result of the war, especially the keen scholastic competition that exists. He pointed out that Dartmouth has not changed its policy of selecting well-rounded individuals, scholastics being an important but not the only basis for selecting freshmen.

Harold Fitkin '50 gave a very interesting report on the 1948 football season. He discussed the highlights of the games and presented some detailed statistics on this very successful season. Emphasis was placed on the fine relationship that exists between the coaching staff and the players. Movies of the entire DartmouthYale game were shown at the conclusion of the meeting.

The interviewing committee for prospective freshmen has been functioning under the able direction of William A. Russell '39. Assisting on this committee are Harold Budd '15, Herbert Bissell '29, Stanley Mauk '19 and EdwardSearles '39.
