This column is being written under the following directive from Editor Widmayer,

"This is not a request to skip notes entirely— the continuity of class reports is important—but it is a request to state things more concisely than is your custom, to weed out the inconsequential, and to hold over letters and other excerpts that you might have been planning to quote. With a general tightening up in copy, quite a lot of news and names can still be worked into the column for this special issue."

This shows how straightforward Mr. Widmayer can be.

"Murder will out." Not only murder but much pleasanter things, such as a fiftieth wedding anniversary. Albert M. Lyon and Alice Maud Elkins were married December 20, 1899. It was their intention to keep this fact strictly under their own hats. Also the celebration thereof. They and their children and grandchildren slipped quietly up to Peru, Vt. and, in the same house where Bud's father and mother and grandfather and grandmother had celebrated the same supreme event, they celebrated. Although the Class of '94 was not let in on this our congratulations are none the less spontaneous, sincere and inclusive of all the best wishes that we can think of. In this connection it is interesting to remember that John Cassin was married March 23, 1899, Kid Martin June 27, 1899, Woody Parker June 4, 1900, and Ed Stone June 29, 1898.

The fact of the Lyon anniversary was divulged at a foursome which the Secretary and his wife had with Mrs. Pearl Gilford and Mrs. Billy Mann at the Hotel Vendome in Boston where Mrs. Gilford is spending the winter.
