I am sure the class will be very much interested to learn that Olive Blood has agreed to give of her time and effort in trying to keep in touch with the widows of our departed classmates.
On December 15 a letter over her signature was sent to all those whose address was known, telling them that the class wanted to keep in touch with them and asking them to plan to be at our 45th reunion in 1952.
Naturally there are some names on our list for whom we have no address, so if anyone knows any 1906 widow please notify Olive Blood, 498 East High St., Manchester, N. H.
The New York dinner of 1905 and 1906 was held at the Dartmouth Club on December 8 but I am sorry to report that Warner White and I Were the only '06 members present. Thurlow Gordon stopped in to say hello but another engagement prevented his staying.
The St. Petersburg Times of December 17 carried a picture of Eric Kelly sitting in the sun at Sunset Beach, Fla. Eric is writing a novel about his hometown, Amesbury, Mass and the rise and fall of the commercial dynasties built on carriage manufacturing. From Florida Eric will journey to New Mexico as he is on a year's leave from Dartmouth.
Our treasurer is bemoaning the fact that ten less men have paid their dues this year compared to last year. If you are one of them you know what to do.
For over a year I have been trying to take a census of the 1906 grandchildren. It hasn't been too successful as only 55 have sent in statistics.
The average of those who have reported is about three and three-quarters grand-childien per classmate. Two have 11 each, one has eight, three—seven, five—six, two—five, 13-four, ten-three, ten-two and nine have one. They are divided about even as to sex.
Joe Nuelle is back at work after spending three weeks in the Deaconess Hospital, Boston. Joe says the only thing he liked during his stay was the nurses.
